Meet the organizing team

Cisteil X. Pérez

My research is mainly focused on the biodiversity, taxonomy and conservation of Cantharidae and other elateroids. My current postdoctoral project is on plant-insect interaction networks and the impact of human activities on them. Also, I’m leading the team writing the IUCN Red List of Mexican fireflies.

Oliver Keller

I completed my Ph.D. in the lab of Dr. Marc Branham at the University of Florida working on lampyrids from the West Indies and other beetles. I am continuing my work with fireflies, and I currently work for the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Vinicius S. Ferreira

My research is focused on the taxonomic and phylogenetic relationships of the New World Lycidae and Omethidae through the integrative use of morphological and molecular data. I am particularly interested in beetle groups that have been affected by paedomorphosis and in how it shaped their evolution, morphology and biology.
